Fly Casting

Learn techniques and secrets to improve your fly fishing experience and success! This class will cover selection of rod, reel, line, and leader; selection of the proper fly; how to correctly put the leader and fly on the line with the appropriate knots; correct casting techniques; and how to present the fly to fish. On the second day of class, you will move outside and start to learn how to cast. On the last day, you will be shown a few ways of casting that you can practice at home. Experienced fly fisher, Earland Thompson, has taught this hands-on class many times, and it is always enthusiastically received. This will be a fun class, and with luck, you will be able to go to the river and catch fish! Bring your rod, reel, line, and tapered leader to class each time. The instructor will have a few extra rods to borrow, if needed.
